Interview with maiarcitaInterview with :iconmaiarcita:
First goes first: Maria, tell us a bit about yourself please.
My name is Maria, I'm from Spain. I currently live in Mallorca, but I was born in Cadiz, a lovely and welcoming city in southern Spain. I live with my partner and a dog named Quenya.
I have always loved the arts, painting, sculpture, photography. The fantasy, castles, dragons, Tolkien I also like.
I collect swords, I already have three: one small crossbow and several daggers.
What do you like about the dA community and what can be improved?
I knew DA before dedicating to photomanipulation. It is a special place and fantastic for resources, tutorials and especially people who share their concerns and same affinities. Everything can always be improved, but that's for the experts.
What's in your opinion the benefit of being in a large number of groups?
It is a way to present your work to a wider number of people, but to me that doesn't really matter.
I am here to convey my
Interview with SanguineVampInterview with :iconsanguinevamp:
Most people already know you but for the few that don't yet: Jade, tell us a bit about yourself please.
Well, I'm an American graduate school student studying Public Health. This is sort-of like medicine except that (1) it's not clinical, and (2) we deal more with the behavioral side of health, like helping people eat right and stick to programs that will help improve their health like exercise programs or group therapy sessions. I am particularly interested in mental health, and my work centers around the connections between physical disease and mental illness. For example, I am interested in questions like, "What does being depressed do to your heart?"
So, most people do not know I am getting a Ph.D. in something completely unrelated to art.
I'm not trained as an artist, but I have been practicing this stuff for almost 10 years. I'm very self-taught. And now, as the Community Volunteer for Photomanipulation, I am really excited to get to show of

Interview with SweediesInterview with :iconsweedies:
First goes first: Karin, tell us a bit about yourself please.
My name is Karin Claesson and I am a single woman.
I live in a small town at the west coast of Sweden, 15 minutes north from Gothenburg.
My age is not important but I have two grown up children, 29 and 21 years old.
Half my life I have worked in a hospital and the other half in a daycare for small children. But I don't have work today because I've done four surgeries on my back because of all heavy lifts in my work. I'm feeling fine nowadays so I'm looking for a new job.
What were your first steps into the photomanipulation world?
It was when I had my third back surgery in 2006 and found my daughter's photoshop on our computer. Bored to death, I start playing with it and I was hooked for life. I love to create in photoshop!
Do you like getting comments and critiques and what do you do with them?
Yes, absolutely!! I love to have comments. It's a great way to get feedb
Interview with VampirekingdomInterview with :iconvampirekingdom:
First goes first: Gabrielle, tell us a bit about yourself please.
My real name is Patricia, my nickname is Gabrielle, and vampirekingdon is my pseudonym, a name that represents my passion for vampires.
I’m 56 years old, and I’m really not aware of my age at all, since I was a Little child I was very interested in art though I was never able to go to an artschool to study.
I am a profesional architect, which I consider is a very different way to draw because it’s very technical, but nonetheless my love for traditional art never stoped.
My drawings have been always in pencil, traditional media.
But when I came across digital art, I got very interested in it, and with the help of my daugther, I started learning about it. It was very difficult for me to adapt to the digital media, and understand the software and how to use them, but I’m a very persistent person, and along the 1200 artworks, I could tell the progress I’ve mad
Interview with TheDarkRayneInterview with :iconthedarkrayne:
A very typical question first: Renu, tell us a bit about yourself please.
I was born & have lived my entire life in India. I love music, movies & lazing around at home. After leaving my job in October last year, art has been my source of income which is a dream come true for me.
How did you discover dA and what are your thoughts about this community?
I remember browsing through art about 6 years back and coming across this wonderful community. At that time, I had no clue about photomanipulations & barely knew anything about digital art. It was the time when I was developing my passion for drawing again. I decided to create an account & start sharing my drawings here and since then haven't looked back. I have grown so much as an artist, thanks to dA. People have been so nice & supportive & helpful over these years & this community has never failed to inspire me. This is a great platform for new as well as very experienced art
Special Feature ... 1 Year DA:iconspreadmoreloveplz: Today a year ago I opened my account at DA. In time, I have learned a lot, met nice people and some are grown me to the heart.

The Parlour IncidentOne day in July, I believe it was, I found myself sitting with several acquaintances in Christopher's parlour. It was one of those deliciously lazy afternoons which only the summer in her full glory can bring. The room had a wan, listless light to it, relaxing the other guests and myself as we languidly chatted over tea and crumpets. The air was also sluggishly heavy, dulling the senses to a slowly-blended calm engendered by the heat of St. Othniel's southerly climate.
At length, after much stimulating conversation, Christopher stood, producing a book of sheet music.
"What do you all say to a bit of music?" he asked.
"Certainly," I answered.
"Oh yes, please do darling!" Tabitha exclaimed, "he's quite the maestro."
Christopher laughed, shaking his head.
"Now, now love, I'd not go that far."
He strode over to the piano as the other guests urged him on. Ida entered the room bearing a merrily steaming teapot and more crumpets.
"More tea sirs?" she inquired, shooting sideways glances at her

Lilyas has dedicated herself to making our community a brighter place with her vibrant artwork and infectious enthusiasm for interacting with others in our community. It has certainly paid off, as many deviants flock to her page on a daily basis to let her know how much of an inspiration she is. We absolutely agree, and couldn't let all that hard work go without recognition, so it's with great pride that we bestow the Deviousness Award for March 2014, to ... Read More
